Job Description

Risk Based Quality Management (RBQM) Analytics is an ambitious team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers with a unique blend of Business, Scientific, and Machine Learning expertise that seeks to unleash the full potential of AbbVies data assets by bringing technology and/or data and insights to the forefront of decision making via fit-for-purpose solutions. The Data Scientist role is a key role to enable application of advanced analytics techniques across clinical development continuum. Drives Analytics innovation and experimentation to enable data-driven insights for complex business problems across R&D by deploying advanced analytics techniques like Machine Learning and Visual Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • For assigned projects, works with the cross-functional team to enable fit-for-purpose analytics solutions.

  • Works with team to ensure analytical work product is consistent across projects where appropriate and that user experience is optimized and follows the design principles and standards established by the team

  • Leverages proven statistical methodologies and those methodologies established as standard by the team; in addition to leveraging proven statistical methodologies and standards established by the team, experiments and recommends additional techniques to solve business problems

  • Enables data-driven insights to support of assigned projects

  • If assigned, participates in functional innovation and process improvement initiatives;

  • Ensures adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and to functional quality standards.

  • Identify business needs and support the creation of standard KPIs, reports, and statistical analyses


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree statistics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent field. Masters degree preferred

  • Must have 2-3 years of Data science and analytics-related experience

  • Complete or Full / Career proficiency in R, Python, SQL,or other statistical packages. Intermediate-level knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques

  • Intermediate proficiency with visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau, Microstrategy or equivalent

  • Experience with Machine Learning and other advanced analytics techniques preferred

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical and technical concepts in laymans terms

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated history of successful execution in a fast-paced environment and in managing multiple priorities effectively
